Bisley with OnOffice roundtable discussion Sep 11, 2019| Événements On 11th September, Bisley will be hosting a roundtable discussion with OnOffice at our Dallington Street showroom. The topic of the discussion will be Workplace Acoustics. Bisley’s Dallington Street showroom will be welcoming experienced and knowledgeable Architecture directors and acoustic specialists to discuss what they think of open-plan spaces and whether acoustic spaces are needed for employee wellbeing and health. This discussion will be a closed roundtable but will be reported in OnOffice magazine and will cover: Is it time to bring back the cubicle? How do you design a workplace with acoustics at its core? Does noise pollution cause stress? What is the optimum sound level? How exactly does noise affect employee wellbeing? . Guests joining the debate include: Katherine Sheridan – Associate Interior Designer - BDG architecture + design With 12 years’ experience in the industry, Katherine has worked on projects ranging in scale and complexity from The Bijou to multi-million pounds in value projects. A variety in sectors such as Professional Services, Media, Charity and Retail. She is passionate about making great places to work and bringing together a building’s opportunities with creative design solutions, that truly reflect her clients’ requirements. Peter Nagle - Contracts Director – BW Workplace Peter joined BW in 2005 as a Contract Manager. He quickly moved up through the ranks to become a Contracts Director. Prior to joining the BW team, Peter spent five years at Quality Building Services (part of the Bowmer & Kirkland Group) working his way up from Production Assistant to Contracts Manager. Peter has a wealth of experience from gusty refurbishments to high-end retail fit outs. His great work and leadership led Team Nagle to victory – winning BW its first SKA Gold award for the project at WestPac, only the second Gold award ever awarded. Nigel Oseland – Acoustic Researcher and Psychologist Nigel is an environmental psychologist, workplace strategist, change manager, researcher, author and international speaker. Nigel works with his clients to redefine their workstyles and create cost-effective and space-efficient workplaces that enhance concentration, collaboration, creativity and business performance. Where appropriate he helps design and implement sustainable agile working environments. He is a firm believer in evidence-based design and delivering unique workplaces that support the occupying business. Trudy Martin – Brand Ambassador, A&D – Bisley Passionate about design, Trudy came to London after completing her arts education to take up a role in sales for CBS in 2006 followed by 4 years as A&D technical consultant. Then for two years, Judy was a Project Manager and Workplace Consultant with PwC Real Estate before joining Bisley. Her business skills draw on a varied career having worked in property, manufacturing, interior design, financial institutions, hospitality and the arts. Her role as Brand Ambassador at Bisley focuses on relationships with A&D and business colleagues across the industry. Peter Attwood – Manager Director - Acoustic Associates Sussex Peter is Managing Director and Principal Consultant of Acoustic Associates Sussex Ltd. With both, Honours degree in Building Engineering and a Masters degree in Acoustics and Noise Control. He is a Chartered Builder and a Member of The Chartered Institute of Building, a Member of The Institute of Acoustics and a Member of the Institute of Diagnostic Engineers. Peter has worked on many projects in building acoustics, including design for open plan offices as well as community facilities to achieve satisfactory acoustics in working or leisure environments. He is also currently involved, as the MD of a sister company, in developing innovative equipment for use by other Acoustic Consultants in their practices, both in the UK and abroad. The session will be chaired by Jessica Christen-Hametner – OnOffice Editor.
