Our Brand New Home Space In John Lewis Oxford Street

We’ve come a long way since the manufacture of our first product – a steel waste paper bin. Nowadays, we are proud to be a staple in both home and office furniture in the UK and our evolving partnership with John Lewis is proof of this.
In this blog post, we invite you to join us behind the scenes of our latest partnership with the iconic retailer. We’ll share the inspiration behind our curated selection, the collaborative process, and a sneak peek into the Bisley products that are available in-store in London.
Bisley teams up with John Lewis Oxford Street
Strengthening our longstanding partnership with John Lewis, Bisley was invited to feature in the new “Home Hero” concept, offering us a prestigious platform to present our high-quality home and office furniture and to tell the story behind our proud British heritage.
In addition to our London showroom, we’re excited to have another space where shoppers can drop in for a visit and get a true, in-person feel for the quality and design of our beautiful home and office furniture pieces, as well as inspire new customers to begin their colourful home decor journey. We can be found among some of the world’s leading brands on the third floor of John Lewis Oxford street, loved for its wide range of home, technology, and furniture.
Designing the home and office furniture display in the flagship store
Since Bisley’s humble beginnings in the 1930s, we’ve continued to evolve and grow and to be able to tell the story of our proud British heritage with John Lewis is an opportunity we are very grateful for. The John Lewis Oxford street space has been designed by our talented Creative Director, Jeanine Goddard, with a goal to inspire the use of colour in the home through showcasing a selection of our versatile yet durable products:
“It was important for us to show the shopper how our pieces can work in a domestic environment without feeling cold or utilitarian. This is where the use of colour comes into play and gives customers the chance to adapt their Bisley piece to their individual style, be it monochrome, warm or playful.”
When designing this space, we just knew that we had to feature a blend of our classic home office pieces, like the iconic MultiDrawer, as well as some of our more modern home collections, such as Fern, which is an ideal choice as a living room sideboard.
With a spectrum of colours as extensive as ours, we chose to feature some of our customer’s favourites to display. We’re on a mission to prove that home and office furniture designed for the practical needs of daily life doesn’t have to come at the cost of style and personal taste. We’re showing how Bisley furniture bring both form and function to their surroundings, something we’re incredibly passionate about.
From traditional to bold: meet the chosen colourful home and office furniture
In any room, personal touches of your style and taste is an important part of feeling at home. Finding the perfect home and office furniture pieces can be a daunting task, but it shouldn’t have to be. For the John Lewis Oxford Street display, we chose to include a variety of products.
The Bisley Pink and Olive Green Fern Locker duo was chosen, as it’s great for maximising storage in tight spaces in your home, such as the hallway or alcoves. Aside from functionality, one of our favourite parts about our Fern lockers is their ability to create an interesting focal point in your home – double (or triple!) them up with your favourite decor colours to create a unique and personalised storage hub. They’re stylish yet practical to meet your everyday needs.
Setting the scene for our home office shoppers, a firm customer favourite and Bisley bestseller, MultiDesk in Palest Pink, had to be included. Designed as a furniture piece where your essentials are on-hand without creating clutter, our MultiDesk combines the iconic storage of our MultiDrawer with a durable desktop built in to handle the demands of busy work-from-home days.
And if that’s not enough storage, we added a sleek Home Filer in Anthracite here to work with the desk, which means secure storage for your files and supplies, as well as a space to pop some decorative accessories without taking up precious desk space.
Our display in John Lewis Oxford Street marks an exciting milestone in Bisley’s journey, showcasing how far we’ve come since our humble beginnings. For us, it is more than just a display; it’s a celebration of our British heritage, craftsmanship, and commitment to creating home and office furniture that beautifully balance practicality and style.
